Frame Drums were founded in
prehistoric times and they are performed in Middle Eastern countries and India
also Europe.
Unfortunately, in Japan, we don't have single headed frame drums in our
culture except "Paranku" in Okinawa.
And almost Japanese drums are performed by using
sticks, not fingers!
I wonder why our culture didn't chose frame drums in our history, and
didn't use fingers to play drums.
I want to research it in near future.
But, that is the reason why (to play frame drums with
fingers) I devoted to the frame Drums.
Using fingers, we can express more delicately....like a piano.
As a pianist, I fall in love with this instrument at first.
And also I was attracted by its sound.
The overtone sounds richly, I was really healed by it.
Beside, it has a spiritual backbone.
I think this instruments unify my life.
I feel to call by Frame Drum.
It leads me to the fantastic world of sounds now.

I want to tell about Frame Drums....its history or types.
But I don't know much about them, because Japanese culture doesn't have
frame drums in its history.
Please look at Mr. Peyman Nasehpour's article.
He is a famous Tonbek player and lives in Iran.
He familiars very much with frame drums and his articles are very
useful.

Tambourines are also one of frame drums and in Japan we learned tambourine in
our school age.
If we have had good teacher or great player of this instrument, there
are many frame drummers every where in Japan.
Please look at Mr. Andrea
Piccioni's web site.
He is a Italian Tamburello player also plays other frame drums.
You can find the video of his fantastic play in his site.
